About Kwabo 2026

The Kwabo Creative Industries Incubator is a ten-week professional development program designed by and for People of Colour (POC). It provides practical training, industry mentoring and employment pathways for POC emerging creatives, artists and POC international students looking to build sustainable careers in Victoria's creative industries.

The program recognises that many artists and community members possess valuable creative skills but often have limited opportunities to gain professional experience in areas such as event management, artistic production and stage management. By combining practical workshops with hands-on project delivery, the incubator supports participants to diversify their skills and income streams while remaining connected to their creative or cultural practices.

Throughout the program, participants will learn directly from award-winning industry professionals with extensive experience across festivals, performing arts and creative production. The program emphasises collaboration, professional practice and real-world learning, culminating in the delivery of a participatory community event where participants apply the skills developed throughout the incubator.
